About Me

Hi there! I’m Chloe.

I’m a 17 year old photographer from central Pennsylvania. Although I have enjoyed taking photos for as long as I can remember, I really found my passion for photography when I was around 10 years old. It all started when I was on the way to an indoor soccer game where there was a beautiful sunset by the mountains. I whipped out my iPhone 6 and quickly snapped a photo of it. I was absolutely obsessed with that photo so every place I went after that I was taking photos out of the car window. Then it expanded to our flowers outside, forests, zoos, and then at one point it was mainly one subject that still happens to be one of my favorites – my furry cat companion Chester!

I got my first DSLR camera on Christmas of 2017. Since then I’ve been expanding my knowledge on how to use my equipment to take the best photos I can, and had my first shoot in 2018. I started Chlotographie in 2019, which was originally just going to be the name of my Instagram account to share my nature photos. It took so long for me to decide on what to call my business, and I’m not able to tell you why I chose Chlotographie because I don’t know myself. Out of all the names I came up with, that one just stuck out the most!

I love photography because I’m fascinated at the fact that you can freeze one moment in time and keep it forever. Even though it’s just one moment, it can bring out the same feelings and emotions you felt at that point in time. It’s like time traveling just with your eyes! This also ties into the reason I love being a photographer. Seeing my clients smiles when they see a photo of their loved ones makes my heart happy, and contributing to that smile makes it even better!

A Few of My Favorite Things

Giraffes
Giraffes have always been my favorite animal, they’re shy and timid creatures and unique in every way. I have wayyy too many giraffe things. I actually have a designated giraffe-corner in my room!
Chester
Aww my buddy, budge, fluff, t-rex, and all the other nicknames I came up with for him. Chester’s favorite things consist of: food, naps on his humans’ laps, lying by the heating vents, and egg cartons (his favorite toy to rip apart).
Pasta
Ohhh yeahhh pasta! I could eat pasta all day every day. It’s by far one of my favorite foods ever. Any shape, size, sauce you put on it, I will be very happy to eat it.
Traveling
There’s nothing better to me than going to an unfamiliar place. Whether it’s a town around PA that I don’t go to very often or a completely different state, I love it just the same!
Spring
My absolute favorite season of all time! Not too hot, not too cold, beautiful colors and flowers. It’s just a bright and happy season.
Plants/Succulents
Yep, that’s right – I’m a crazy plant lady. I don’t even know how it happened, I guess I just randomly started liking them and then my 16th birthday party completely revolved around cacti. Ever since then my collection has just gotten bigger and bigger…
Language
I think it’s so cool the way humans communicate and put words together to describe something. I’ve always been an English person rather than math (math is not really my thing at all!), so I really enjoy looking at the way words are put together and expressed. So far I know English and quite a lot of German, but I’m hoping to be able to learn Spanish, sign language, and Russian in the future!
